We are all born with an innate sense of fairness. While that sense can be the foundation for human justice, our broken hearts often twist "fairness" into an ego-centric trap: envy.

In this message based on Matthew 20:1-16, we dive into Jesus’ Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard. When the late-coming laborers receive the same wage as those who worked all day, resentment boils over. We do the exact same thing today—comparing our lives to others and deciding God is holding out on us.

But the Gospel reveals a beautiful truth: God is not fair; He is generous. If God gave us what was "fair," we would face the just consequences of our sin. Instead, at the cross, Jesus took the justice we deserved so that God could pour out the mercy, love, and grace we could never earn.
