No one was saying "He is risen indeed" the first Easter. Rather there was fear and confusion summarized in the Gospel of Luke by the word "marveling." There are many today who also marvel-if God loves us and is all powerful why are there accidents, illnesses and death. While we can't answer that question, as the answer is different for each person and situation, on the basis of the Easter story there are definitely two comforting things that can be said. We will look at the unique words of Jesus in the Gospel of Luke and how they give faith to the marveling.
