In Isaiah 6, the prophet Isaiah sees the Lord, and it is a terrifying sight. But in John 3, Jesus invites us to see the Kingdom of God — an invitation made possible by God's perfect love, which casts out all fear of judgment.

Ministry Spotlight – St. James Fellowship Team

Fellowship Deacon: Jen Weber

The St. James Fellowship Team led by Jen Weber is committed to providing many fellowship and service opportunities for our church family. From coordinating funeral luncheons to organizing fun-filled events, they’re here to ensure everyone feels connected and cared for.

Here’s a glimpse into some of the key roles and activities the Fellowship Team manage:

  1. Funeral Luncheons Coordinator: Providing comfort and support during times of loss, our team organizes compassionate luncheons for grieving families, fostering community and care.
  2. Event Schedule & Coordination: From the joyous celebrations to the cozy gatherings, they plan and execute various events throughout the year, including:
    • Christmas Breakfast: Spreading holiday cheer with a delicious morning feast, bringing our congregation together in the spirit of Christmas.
    • Church Picnic: Embracing the warmth of fellowship, our annual picnic is a time for laughter, games, and shared meals.
    • Easter Egg Hunt: Delighting our youngest members with the excitement of Easter egg hunts, creating cherished memories for families.
    • Game Nights: Fostering friendly competition and camaraderie through evenings filled with laughter, snacks, and a variety of games for all ages.
    • Easter Breakfast: Commemorating the joy of Easter morning with a hearty breakfast shared amongst friends and fellow believers.
    • Fellowship Opportunities: Beyond scheduled events, we continually seek out ways to nurture connections and foster a sense of belonging within our church community.
  3. The Fellowship Team is dedicated to creating meaningful fellowship opportunities, that enrich the lives of our members and community, and strengthening the bonds that unite us. If you’d like to be involved in this ministry please contact Jen at jenweber@saintjamesglencarbon.org.

Summer Sunday School

We have a wonderful program scheduled, but very much need volunteer adults to assist. There is no planning involved, just attend, and help supervise a craft and/or activity. Open slots can be found using on our website or by going to stjamesglencarbon.org/summer-sunday-school or by contacting the church office.

Youth Annual Yard Sale

St. James Youth needs your support for our upcoming Yard Sale! Please consider sorting clothing items by size and labeling them before donating. We’re also seeking plant donations—split plants sold well last year. Additionally, we urgently require a truck for Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15. Any assistance is appreciated—contact Ruth Thompson at ruth.thompson@melhs.org to help out. Thank you!

Mahnomen Community Outreach Amazon Wish List

The St. James Youth Group invites both St. James and Beautiful Savior congregations to join us in supporting Mahnomen community during our upcoming mission trip. We aim to address various needs, primarily collecting school supplies for Mahnomen Elementary School and general pantry supplies for Helping Hands Food Pantry. To facilitate donations, we’ve created an Amazon Wish List. You can send items directly to Beautiful Savior in Callaway, avoiding the need for transportation from Illinois. Jack Blair South Africa Mission Trip

Summer Instrumental Music Lessons

Mr. Meador, Director of Music at MELHS, will be offering summer lessons starting the week of May 29th. These lessons are perfect for middle/high school students playing a band instrument who have 1 year of playing experience and are interested in advancing their skills over the summer!

Lessons will be $25 for a half-hour lesson and will take place in the music room at MELHS. If you are interested, please email Mr. Meador at joseph.meador@melhs.org.
