Have you ever felt consumed by the challenges of life, or that the odds were stacked against you? You are not alone. However,in the middle of a book of the Bible in which the writer laments the hardship of crushing challenges and the weight of God's just judgment, we find these refreshing words that still bring us comfort today:
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23, ESV)
Because God is faithful–even when we are unfaithful, and in the worst of circumstances, we can say with hope-filled assurance:
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.” (Lamentations 3:24, ESV)

Youth Deacon: Stacey Staake
The St. James Youth Team, under the leadership of Stacey Staake, is a dedicated team that meets weekly, on Wednesday evenings with all junior and senior high students. Through engaging Bible studies, activities and events, the team provides a supportive community for young believers.
Highlights include an impactful annual mission trip and participation in the triannual LCMS Youth Gathering, both of which offer unique opportunities for service, witnessing, spiritual growth and fellowship. Committed to living for Christ in today’s world, the St. James Youth Team empowers its members to deepen their faith and make a positive difference in their communities.
This team is very active and in GREAT need of adults to assist with weekly meetings. Please prayerfully consider how you might help in this way. Whether it’s for one Wednesday a month, or more, you can help us to continue and grow this ministry! Contact Stacey Staake at stacey@stjamesglencarbon.org, or the church office for more information.
