Psalm 132 describes the covenant that God made with David in 2 Samuel 7. But tied up with this promise is the condition that God himself will move into Jerusalem and make it his eternal home. But a short 80 years after God promises this to David the kingdom has been split up, and 400 years afterward the kingdom has been completely destroyed and God's temple has been burnt down. But in Jesus – David's son and God's son – the second person of the Trinity comes to live on earth and reign on the throne of his father and his Father.
