God calls Abraham out of a life of idolatry in Mesopotamia in order to make him his agent to bring about renewal and healing in his fallen and suffering world. He does this by unilaterally promising Abraham blessing, land, and an offspring that will one day rule the whole world in righteousness forever.

Christianity and Hinduism – Craving Answers, Craving God

Hinduism has historically flourished in the Indian subcontinent, but through immigration is rapidly growing in the West. What do Hindus believe, and how do those beliefs compare with Christianity? On episode 68 of Craving Answers, Craving God, Chuck and Aaron compare and contrast these two religions, and talk about how the person and work of Jesus can meet the deepest longings of both Hindus and Christians.

Metro-East Lutheran High School Host Families Needed

Metro-East Lutheran High School is looking for host families for foreign students who are interested in attending MELHS for the 23/24 school year. Please prayerfully consider opening your home up for either a semester or the full school year. If you would like to explore this opportunity please contact Dr. Jay Krause at jay.krause@melhs.org or call the school office at 618-656-0043.

Glen-Ed Pantry "Summer Foods" Donations

In June, Glen-Ed Pantry suggests donating “summer foods” families need for cookouts, picnics and quick “Little League” meals. Foods like ketchup. mustard, s’more makings and lemonade or cool aide (with sugar) plus items from the Glen-Ed Pantry website’s “Most Needed Items” list will be in demand. For more information contact Tina Barnard at barnard.tina00@gmail.com.

Metro East Lutheran High School Matching Grant

Lutheran Foundation has generously agreed to match every dollar donated to the MELHS endowment fund with three dollars, up to $750,000. This money will be used to provide financial aid to students who need it, helping to make Lutheran education affordable for every family. We will support this initiative with two door offerings – next Sunday, June 25th, and also on July 9th – to allow families who might be traveling one of those Sundays to participate. If you have any questions, please see one of our school board representatives: Mark Eberhart, Eric Robinson, or Dan Staake.
