Paul's relationship with the Corinthian church had been tense – his apostolic authority had been challenged and denied – but Paul did not give up hope in either his ministry or in their faith: since Jesus died and rose from the dead all those who believe in him, even when struggling and doubting, are part of the new creation of God's kingdom.

Ministry Spotlight – St. James Youth Team

Youth Deacon: Stacey Staake

The St. James Youth Team, under the leadership of Stacey Staake, is a dedicated team that meets weekly, on Wednesday evenings with all junior and senior high students. Through engaging Bible studies, activities and events, the team provides a supportive community for young believers.

Highlights include an impactful annual mission trip and participation in the triannual LCMS Youth Gathering, both of which offer unique opportunities for service, witnessing, spiritual growth and fellowship. Committed to living for Christ in today’s world, the St. James Youth Team empowers its members to deepen their faith and make a positive difference in their communities.

This team is very active and in GREAT need of adults to assist with weekly meetings. Please prayerfully consider how you might help in this way. Whether it’s for one Wednesday a month, or more, you can help us to continue and grow this ministry! Contact Stacey Staake at stacey@stjamesglencarbon.org, or the church office for more information.

How Did We Get the Books of the Bible?

You believe that the Bible is the Word of God. You believe that the Bible is inerrant, a reliable and trustworthy source of truth. But how did the Bible come to be? Who decided which books of the Bible would be included and which would not? How much do we know about the development of the canon? That’s our newest topic on Craving Answers, Craving God.
