Human history is headed toward a magnificent goal, the return of Jesus and the renewal of all creation. On the road to that goal Jesus calls his people to participate with him in this restorative mission, which is to do in Jesus' name and by his power the ministries he began before his ascension and continues to do now through his Holy Spirit.

- Metro East Lutheran High School Matching Grant
-
Lutheran Foundation has generously agreed to match every dollar donated to the MELHS endowment fund with three dollars, up to $750,000. This money will be used to provide financial aid to students who need it, helping to make Lutheran education affordable for every family. We will support this initiative with a door offering today and through the end of July. You can give by writing a check to St. James and putting MELHS in the memo line or through Tithe.ly online by selecting MELHS Matching Grant Fund.
- Glen-Ed Pantry "Pack the Bus" Donations
-
During the month of July, Glen-Ed Pantry is collecting school supplies for students of the families they serve. Backpacks filled with required supplies will be handed out to pantry families on August 12.
You can support Glen-Ed Pantry’s Back-to School Supply Drive by:
- Donating items in the collection basket St. James Lutheran Church.
- Ordering school supplies through Amazon or Walmart from Glen-Ed Pantry’s wish list or
- Making a cash donation. These donations will help provide funds to give each student a $25 gift card for shoes at Payless Shoes or will be used to purchase PE Uniforms required by District 7.
Most needed school supplies: backpacks with laptop pockets, combination locks, scientific calculators, 7 inch scissors, plastic folders, spiral notebooks.
