The belief that all humans are broken and damaged is a confession that we need healing. Jesus gives us this healing in his death and resurrection, then calls us to give that healing to others in the love and acceptance of Christian community.

Metro East Lutheran High School Matching Grant

Lutheran Foundation has generously agreed to match every dollar donated to the MELHS endowment fund with three dollars, up to $750,000. This money will be used to provide financial aid to students who need it, helping to make Lutheran education affordable for every family. We will support this initiative with a door offering on July 9th – to allow families who might be traveling one of those Sundays to participate. If you have any questions, please see one of our school board representatives: Mark Eberhart, Eric Robinson, or Dan Staake.

Glen-Ed Pantry "Pack the Bus" Donations

During the month of July, Glen-Ed Pantry is collecting school supplies for students of the families they serve. Backpacks filled with required supplies will be handed out to pantry families on August 12.

You can support Glen-Ed Pantry’s Back-to School Supply Drive by:

  • Donating items in the collection basket St. James Lutheran Church.
  • Ordering school supplies through Amazon or Walmart from Glen-Ed Pantry’s wish list or
  • Making a cash donation. These donations will help provide funds to give each student a $25 gift card for shoes at Payless Shoes or will be used to purchase PE Uniforms required by District 7.

Most needed school supplies: backpacks with laptop pockets, combination locks, scientific calculators, 7 inch scissors, plastic folders, spiral notebooks.
