Jesus announces, “The Kingdom of God is near,” and immediately calls his first disciples to follow Him. But what is this Kingdom, and who is this King?

A brief survey of selected verses from the Psalms and the prophets reveals God Himself is the King and His Kingdom is eternal. Jesus, God’s Son in human form—now among us, ushers in His Kingdom as a Shepherd-King.

Like King David of the Old Testament, Jesus is a King who calls out to his own; it is a call to repent, to believe, and to follow. This King is one who also protects, anoints, and feeds his people, His flock. As the Good Shepherd He is the one, true King. He calls to you. Follow Him!
