The Transfiguration of Jesus

Jesus' transfiguration confused the disciples who first witnessed it, and is still confusing for us today. What was happening there? What does it say about who Jesus is, and how can we understand Jesus' mission better by witnessing it ourselves? In this sermon, Aaron outlines how the transfiguration must be seen in the context of Jesus' claims that he is headed to Jerusalem to die and rise from the dead – claims which demonstrate that following Jesus will be both painful and glorious.

Youth Group Mission Trip

Our youth are going on mission! God has called us to active ministry for an 8 day Mission trip to the White Earth Indian Reservation in Callaway, MN from June 19th-26th. This is open to all Jr. and Sr. High youth as well as our congregation adults. Please sign up in the foyer if you are interested in attending the trip. An informational meeting will be held on Feb. 16 at 6:00 PM downstairs at church. If you have any interest, please attend this meeting, or contact the church office.

Metro-East Lutheran High School’s 41st Annual Auction is going virtual. The Night of Knights Virtual Auction will be held Feb. 19-20. Check out Metro-East Lutheran High School on Facebook to participate in this event, which is the school’s biggest fundraiser of the year. MELHS currently is accepting donations of items to be auctioned off during the event. Donations can be dropped off at the school office through Feb. 15.
