Citizens of Heaven – Second Sunday in Lent

The Lenten season gives us an important opportunity each year to focus our attention on the cross of Christ. Among us, the cross is a beautiful symbol—we wear crosses, display them in our churches, and place them in cemeteries. But why is the cross so central to our faith?

Liturgist and Preacher: Pastor William Engfehr; Reader: Joe Rathert.

God’s Gift of Forgiveness: Hiding From God or Hiding in God? – Midweek Lent Service

Confession involves, first of all, speaking the truth about who we are before God according to His righteous Law. By nature we hide from God. We don’t want Him to know who we really are. But this hiding only results in spiritual and physical disaster. By speaking the truth of who we are according to the Law, this frees us from the burden of self-justification.

The God Who Sees – First Sunday in Lent

We have a God who cares and sees us always. From the beginning, in the garden of Eden, He seeks out Adam and Eve in their disobedience to Hagar, an Egyptian slave, who is cast out, to Jesus who sees the crowds and has compassion on them. This is our God! He sees or notices and does something about it.

Liturgist and Preacher: Pastor Tony Boos; Reader: Nic Schutte.

God’s Gift of Forgiveness: Save Me Because of Your Unfailing Love – Ash Wednesday

This Ash Wednesday sermon introduces our Lenten series, setting the tone for both Christ’s journey to the cross and our own daily walk of faith through Confession and Absolution. Grounded in Psalm 6, it reflects on how God worked in David’s heart and how He continues to work in each of us through the power of Law and Gospel.

Liturgist and Preacher: Pastor William Engfehr
